Vent Axia’s Centralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) is a whole dwelling ventilation system that supplies and extracts air continuously at a low rate. It is a low energy, continuous mechanical extract ventilation system designed with multiple extract points to simultaneously draw moisture laden air out of the wet rooms (bathrooms and kitchen) providing a quieter and more efficient system compared to separate fans.

Centralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) is a system where a central unit is mounted in a loft or cupboard and ducted to extract polluted air from the wet rooms of the house. As there is no heat recovery, there is no requirement for any ducts to supply the replacement air. Instead, replacement air enters the home through window vents or airbricks. In many houses however, air naturally enters the building through gaps and cracks in the structure, providing adequate ventilation.

The removal of pollutants, such as moisture and build up of indoor air pollutants are all important factors in maintaining good indoor air quality, helping to create a better living environment.

Some MEV units will include a humidity sensor, designed to increase the fan speed in proportion to relative humidity levels, saving energy and reducing noise. Other models include a CO2 sensor, meaning when you have increased occupancy in your home, the unit will increase ventilation rates to ensure you have the best indoor environment.

With growing concerns about accurate ventilation of properties, the Lo-Carbon Multivent MVDC range offers the option of Close Control both in the residential and the commercial sectors. With a DC motor the multi-speed Lo-Carbon Multivent is one of the most efficient central extract units available.

The units have two fully variable speeds for trickle and boost, with a switched live (LS) activation for the boost speed. An additional third speed (purge) is available using a second switched live connection.

An acoustic lining is included as standard, ensuring minimum noise levels. The potentiometer controlled speed selector allows accurate setting of airflow, ensuring exactly the right ventilation rate. This feature also reduces noise, and energy consumption.

The Multivent continuous mechanical extract ventilation range is designed for the simultaneous ventilation of separate areas in the home or as a multi-point extractor system for a wide range of commercial applications.

With a DC motor the Multispeed Multivent is one of the most efficient central extract units in the UK.

Installation

A switched live (LS) can also be used to select boost speed when wired through an Isolator Relay (Part No. 442030 – not supplied). An additional third speed (purge) is available using a second switched live connection.
